The main objective of the project is to provide innovative and ICT based tools and resources for education that facilitate the integration of activities and contents dealing with environment and sustainable development in Tourism studies. This will be possible by means of joint co-operation of tourism teaching staff and professionals working in the Tourism sector in 4 European countries.
Using ICT, a methodology and a networking tool will be available. A space will be created for exchange between teachers and professionals participating in the project, to encourage pedagogical innovation, orientation of syllabuses along environmental issues and lifelong updating of the professionals involved.
Expected impact:
- To provide new training opportunities that facilitate a multi disciplinary approach for students and teachers.
- Availability of ICT-based educational resources and training methods aimed at improving sustainable development and environment quality in tourism.
- Identification and validation of indicators to assess environment quality and sustainability in tourist areas.
- To foster responsible usage of ICT in education that facilitates collaborative learning, as well as collection, analysis and exchange of information.
- To foster contact and collaborative activities between education centres and business organisations in the European environment and tourist sector, beyond the project period and its geographical framework.
- To sensitize tourism teachers and students (future professionals) to respect environment and make sustainable use of resources, through ICT.
